Inclusiveness – The Key to Retention

If a part is excluded a whole ceases to be

Universe is whole and we all are parts, how can a whole not include a part? An entire is an entire, a whole is a whole, a complete is a complete only when everything is included, everyone is included. If a part is excluded a whole ceases to be. Similarly, an organization is intact only when its employees are considered, included and appreciated. Differences are the reality and accepting it is the most beautiful thing that can be done.Diversity helps to know the differences and acceptance helps to unite. Therefore it is rightly quoted by ARTHUR CHAN “Diversity is Fact. Equity is Choice. Inclusion is Action. Belonging is conclusion.” With every difference there comes a new dawn, with a new dawn comes a new opportunity, the opportunity to learn more, to include more and to grow more.

Employee as an inseparable part

With every Organization not only comes Mission, Vision and Objectives but also an Employee that nourishes, supports and enhances the organization. Without an Employee it is near to impossible for an organization to function. They are a verb to those words of the organization and are an inseparable part of the organization. If the part is inseparable, inclusiveness should come on its own. Inclusiveness requires empathy and gratitute, empathy to understand and gratitude to appreciate the efforts and the intentions.

Employee as a Capital

Everything that holds value and provides return is an Asset in which the organization has invested. If we try to understand an organization, it is made up of Assets which includes tangible and intangible. Something that doesn’t meet the eye, its existence cannot be denied, neither can its benefit be. Similarly employees are those intangible assets, who are not mentioned in the books of account but hold utmost importance. These people aren’t just the resource, they are also a capital, specifically The Human Capital. Organization makes an investment on the employees in the form of faith, trust and respect, whereas employees return in the form of loyalty, determination and diligence.

Greatest thing fades away if taken for granted

It’s important to understand that the one who holds value must be valued because positives encourage positive and vice versa and therefore it must be taken care of, which words are being said and what actions are being performed. There must be utmost consciousness because even the greatest thing fades away if taken for granted. It’s better to appreciate than to regret because appreciation is an art and it takes courage to be an artist, an artist that believes in gratification.

Retention the art of gratitude (attracts Talent)

Earlier, when people use to get Mudras or Gold Coins they used to treasure them, even after being so cautious robbery still used to take place . It doesn’t require a considerable amount of thinking to understand how much of importance acknowledgement beholds. The smallest deed of appreciation can earn the greatest quality of loyalty which is eventually backed up by retention. The art of appreciation, the art of gratitude will not only help to retain loyalty but it will also help to gain new people which will help the organization to grow and to prosper. Even in general if we think, we live on a planet where there is a law of gravity. Whatever we give comes back to us with double speed, greater the mass, higher will be the speed. Similarly, whatever we appreciate becomes double and therefore it’s high time to learn the art of gratitude and serve people with kindness and courtesy, because what we give, we get back.

Encouraging Attitude (Mistakes, Risks)

Appreciation not just means to praise the admirable work, it also means to encourage the employees even when they are taking risks and making mistakes. Ofcourse, it requires a considerable amount of strength for acceptance but it just requires a bit of effort to understand that mistakes are part of learning and learning happens when we make mistakes. Supporting the employees to take risks and supporting them when they make mistakes, will help to boost their morale, it will also empower them and make them realize that with power comes responsibility.

Intolerant towards Misconduct

Power is one of the greatest things anyone can have, but misusing those powers can lead to the worst consequences. Therefore, there should be awareness and cautiousness regarding whose head is wearing the crown and whose hands are holding the swords. Mistakes are meant to be done but misconduct is a choice. There shouldn’t be tolerance for fraud or misconduct, this will not only set the standards for the employees it will also eliminate the incompetent personnels. You are going to attract exactly What you are. Then why not be ethical? This will not only allow the organization to have high morale employees but also the people of high morals. To bind a family we need a value and what will be more valuable than the employees of high morals?

We are Family

In Sanskrit there’s a famous saying Vasudev Kutumbkam which means The World is one family, and if it is so how can a family be excluded? To an Organization employees are their family, the family that supports during the chaos, that lives by side during the crisis and celebrates during achievement. The family should not only be included but also be celebrated to their fullest potential. Celebration is a way of life, when we celebrate ourselves we grow and when we celebrate others we help them to grow, because this is what families do, ‘They support each other, they celebrate each other and they grow together’
